A resident of the city of Tulun in the Irkutsk region, known as the “Tulun maniac”, was sentenced by a court to 24 years of strict regime, RIA Novosti reports.
He was found guilty of a series of rapes and murders of women.
He was charged with the murder of two persons and committing violent acts of a sexual nature. The man committed the crimes in Tulun in the period from 2000 to 2019.
In addition to 24 years of imprisonment, he was sentenced to one year and 10 months of imprisonment.
The materials of this criminal case amounted to 116 volumes. At the request of the accused, it was considered by a panel of three judges.
