What and how will work on non-working days?

On Wednesday, October 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the introduction of non-working days on the territory of the whole country from October 30 to November 7 inclusive with the retention of wages for employees. Regions can start the period of non-working days earlier or extend it if a dangerous sanitary and epidemiological situation develops.

According to the decree, the government and the authorities of the subjects must determine the mode of operation of health and cultural institutions. The heads of organizations and various bodies need to determine the number of employees and employees who will work in the period from October 30 to November 7. 

What exactly will work across the country during non-working days?

The Russian Post has announced that all branches of the company will operate from October 30 to November 7 in the standard mode according to the usual schedule.

“After all, we are a continuously operating organization,”stopping our work will critically affect people’s lives,” the company said in a statement.

The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade also reported on which enterprises and organizations should continue uninterrupted work during non-working days, with reference to the Minister of Denis Manturov . These include:

• grocery stores;

• shops with essential goods;

• backbone enterprises;

• continuous cycle production;

• companies involved in the production and supply chains of anticovidics (medicines, protective equipment, medical oxygen, etc.).
