The first units arrived in Poland as part of the strengthening of the US military presence in Eastern Europe, the RAR reports.
According to the agency, a plane carrying American military personnel from the 82nd Airborne Division landed at the Yasenka airport near Rzeszow, about 70 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
A day earlier, eight planes arrived there with an advance group to prepare for the reception of American soldiers, whose task is to provide logistical support for the troops being transferred.
It is known that a total of 1.7 thousand United States military personnel are being sent to Poland.
On February 3, the United States began transferring additional military forces to Europe. At least two thousand servicemen flew out of the Fort Bragg military unit on C-17 Globemaster aircraft, most of the fighters will be stationed in Poland, the rest in Germany.
