Flooding in the Crimea

Heavy rains hit the Crimea on the night of August 11. Rivers burst their banks in the east of the Crimea. As a result of heavy precipitation, 170 adjacent territories were flooded, 90 of them are private households. A section of the Tavrida highway was also flooded, traffic on the highway was restored on August 12.

A storm warning has been in effect on the peninsula since Monday. According to forecasters, the most intense precipitation in the east of Crimea is expected on Friday and on Saturday night. The group of rescue forces in the east of the Crimea, where flooding occurs due to rains, has been increased to almost 600 people and 200 pieces of equipment, about 30 temporary accommodation points have been prepared for deployment in case of deterioration of the situation.
