Russia will help prepare and send a female astronaut from Tunisia into space

Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin on Friday held a meeting with the head of the Tunisian company Telnet Holding, Mohammed Frikha, reports TASS.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of manned cosmonautics.

In addition, Rogozin and Frikha discussed their intentions to train and launch a female cosmonaut from Tunisia into space.

The President of the Republic, Kais Said, also took part in the meeting in a remote format. He highly appreciated the cooperation of the countries in the field of space, and also pointed out great opportunities for the implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects.

Earlier it was reported that Russian cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov is planned to be appointed commander of the crew of the Soyuz spacecraft with two space tourists for a flight to the ISS in 2023.
