Gamalei Center assessed the level of effectiveness of Sputnik Lite against Delta

Scientists of the Gamalei National Research Center have published the results of a study of the effectiveness of the one-component vaccine “Sputnik Light” against the delta strain of coronavirus in Moscow, according to the website medRxiv.org.

For the study, data from the Moscow vaccination registers and COVID incidence statistics were used. The evaluation criteria were the proportion of coronavirus cases among those vaccinated with a single dose and the number of infections among the unvaccinated.

The overall effectiveness for all adults over the age of 18 was 69.8%. “These figures indicate that Sputnik Lite is even more effective against the delta strain than many double-injection vaccines,” the article says.

Earlier it was reported that new records were recorded in Russia for the number of infections and deaths from coronavirus.
