Russia highly appreciates Turkey’s position on the development of military-technical cooperation and the use of the S-400 air defense system. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the minister, Ankara will use the first regiment of Russian air defense systems to ensure its defense capability.
Earlier, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he had conveyed to the United States Ankara’s position on the purchase of Russian S-400. The United States has repeatedly noted that the purchase of air defense systems from Russia by the Turkish authorities is unacceptable.Because of this, in April, Washington decided to exclude F-35 fighters from the production program.
In turn, Ankara has stated that it will not refuse to supply Russian anti-aircraft systems.
