Patriarch Kirill: the presence of clergy in social networks is an acute issue

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia urged caution about sermons on social networks. He believes that the issue of the presence of clergy on the Internet is one of the most acute, reports TASS.

According to the patriarch, not every priest can be a preacher. To do this, it is necessary to study in seminaries and constantly improve their qualifications.

He also added that the clergy should think about ways to interact with young people. At the same time, the patriarch urged the priests to be careful in finding new approaches and concentrate more on the content of the sermons and the manner of their utterance.

“In a sense, the preacher should be almost invisible, people should not concentrate on appearance, manner, everything should be focused on what the priest says,” he concluded.

Earlier it was reported that the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church postponed the Bishops’ Council to May 2022 due to the pandemic
