Rosobrnadzor allows the cancellation of the early period of passing the Unified State Exam in 2022

The format of passing the Unified State Exam in the conditions of a pandemic next year will be established in the near future, said the head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev.

Speaking to TASS at a press conference on topical issues of the examination campaign, he noted that the distance format of the Unified State Exam in 2022 is not being considered.

The head of the department also said that the early period of passing the Unified State Exam may be canceled due to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19.

Initially, early exams were organized for graduates who graduated from school in previous years, as well as schoolchildren who, for one reason or another, cannot take the Unified State Exam within the framework of the main period, Murzaev recalled. Now, according to him, the epidemiological situation calls into question the need to allocate an early period.

The head of the federal service also said that it is planned to hold exams for the ninth grades next year in four subjects in the usual format.

Murzaev also confirmed that the number of mandatory Unified State exams will not be increased. All subjects except Russian and mathematics will be optional, said the head of Rosobrnadzor.

Earlier it was reported that Rosobrnadzor intends to return the unified state exam in basic mathematics as a compulsory subject for schoolchildren who plan to receive a certificate.

It also became known that the Unified State Exam in Russia in 2022, together with reserve days, will be held from May 27 to July 2. The Ministry of Education and Science has already approved the minimum level of points for passing the Unified State Exam in the 2022/23 academic year.
