Shoigu laid flowers at the grave of the Unknown Soldier

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu laid flowers at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall, the press service of the military department reports.

The ceremony, which took place on Tuesday in the Alexander Garden, is timed to coincide with the Day of Remembrance and Mourning.

It was attended by the head of the military department, members of the board of the Ministry of Defense, as well as veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Earlier it was reported that flowers to the Grave of the Unknown Soldier on the memorable date were also laid by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The day before, the Kremlin published an article by the head of state “To be open, despite the past”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
