Ginzburg named the optimal time for revaccination from COVID-19

The plot is a pandemic of a new type of coronavirus that has spread from China

The director of the N. F. Gamalei Center, Alexander Ginzburg, said that it is possible to be revaccinated from a new coronavirus infection earlier than in six months, TASS reports.

According to the expert, there are mechanisms in the body that control the level of antibodies.

“But a person will not harm himself with this, but at the same time he may not get additional benefits, and he will have the same high level of antibodies that he had before the revaccination, if he was high,” he said.

Ginzburg noted that six months is the optimal period for revaccination, since this is the minimum period at which previously developed antibodies are kept at a high level.

Earlier, Tatiana Ruzhentsova, deputy director for Clinical Work of the Moscow Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after G. N. Gabrichevsky of Rospotrebnadzor, said that only a severe allergic reaction can be a contraindication to vaccination against coronavirus.

The plot is a pandemic of a new type of coronavirus that has spread from China

“While at least 80% are not vaccinated, it is necessary to keep this rigid distance between vaccinated and unvaccinated by QR codes. This approach has already shown effectiveness in many countries of the world, where there were and continue to be restrictions for the unvaccinated to visit certain places, use the infrastructure,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that residents of Russia without documents on vaccination or transferred coronavirus during hospitalization in federal medical institutions will do rapid tests for COVID-19.

Preservation of cultural heritage. GIM has an online store

And, of course, museum workers do not consider the shops as a separate space, but as another platform for communication with the visitor and an additional source of information about the museum’s activities. In addition, some museums act as publishers, releasing catalogues for exhibitions, popular science publications, albums of museum collections. Presenting to visitors publications and souvenirs with images based on motivescollections, the museum gets a great chance to increase its recognition, while remaining relevant and “alive”. Of course, the presence of an online store is another opportunity to popularize cultural heritage with the help of modern technologies. The online store significantly expands the boundaries of the museum and makes it possible to build a dialogue with visitors who, for one reason or another, cannot actually visit.

Where will the tsunami come, which is possible after the eruption of a volcano in the Canary Islands?

Weekly magazine “Arguments and Facts” No. 42. Supernumber: 152 answers to questions 20/10/2021

It is said that a volcano is erupting in the Canaries, which can collapse and cause a devastating tsunami. Is that true?

The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of Palma in the Canary Archipelago began a month ago and, according to forecasts, will last up to three months. Scientists are talking about the threat of a giant wave, which may occur after the collapse of large volumes of rocks into the Atlantic Ocean.

“This tsunami can spread both to the African continent and to the coast of Europe,” depending on which side such a collapse will occur. Theoretically, the wave can reach America, but it depends on the scale of the eruption, says Samvel Hakobyan, chief Researcher at the Institute of Earth Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Who invented Arabic numerals?

Weekly magazine “Arguments and Facts” No. 42. Supernumber: 152 answers to questions 20/10/2021

Is it true that Arabic numerals were not invented by Arabs at all? Why are they called that then?

The expert’s answer is 1 + –

Nikolay Shamarov, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, answers:

According to historians, the well-known Arabic numerals came from India. It was there that a positional number system consisting of 10 digits, including 0, arose. The first extant record of a number in the decimal system dates back to 595 A.D. However, these numbers did not look the way we write them now: the Indian astronomer and mathematician Ariabhata, who lived in the VI century, suggested writing them with Sanskrit characters.

Soon the system of writing numbers invented by the Hindus got to the Persians and Arabs, and from them to the Europeans. In the Old World, it began to be widely used from the XIII-XIV centuries. The decisive role in their dissemination was played by the Book of Abacus, written by the Italian mathematician Fibonacci in 1202. He first encountered the numbers in the Algerian city of Bejaya. It is for the reason that they came to Europe from Arab countries that we call them Arab.

Lawyer: Ismailov received asylum because of the decision of the Zurich Prosecutor’s office

The former owner of the Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov received political asylum in Montenegro because of the decision of the Zurich prosecutor’s office to close a money laundering case against him, TASS reports with reference to Ismailov’s lawyer Marina Rusakova.

“The document that played a decisive role in granting Telman Ismailov political asylum was submitted to the Montenegrin court from the Zurich Prosecutor’s Office,” she said.

Rusakova explained that the case was closed on January 5 of this year, and also added that her client received compensation in the amount of more than 15,000 Swiss francs.

According to the lawyer, the decision of the supervisory authority on the termination of the case indicated “false information provided in support of the Russian side of Ismailov’s guilt”. In particular, according to the document, the bank provided false information about the sentencing of Ismailov in a number of criminal cases.

Recall that Telman Ismailov was charged in absentia with the murder of businessmen Vladimir Savkin and Yuri Brylev, illegal arms trafficking and the abduction of singer Avraham Russo. He was arrested by the Podgorica court on October 2 at the request of the Russian Federation.

On October 22, Ismailov received political asylum in Montenegro, and the businessman was released from the detention center. In addition, the country refused to extradite him to Russia.

The day before, the head of the RF IC, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to study the grounds for refusing to extradite from Montenegro the ex-owner of the Cherkizovsky market, Telman Ismailov.

What is zavalinka?

The filling is a low earthen embankment along the outer walls of the hut, which protects the dwelling from freezing in winter. Previously, huts were placed directly on the ground, and to protect the house from cold and dampness, earth, straw, sawdust, etc. were simply poured along the perimeter of the walls.

When the word appeared «filling»?

In the Etymological Dictionary of the Russian language by Semenov, it is said that the word “zavalinka” appeared in the XII century. The basis was the noun “blockage”, which has the meaning “land, which is littered with the base of the hut”. Now «the filling » is called «a low device at  the walls of the house ».

What does the expression mean«sit on the filling»?

To prevent the low earthen embankment along the outer walls of the hut from crumbling, a plank box with a beveled lid was built for it. Thanks to this, rainwater and melting snow on it did not linger, but flowed down. In good dry weather, the pilings could be used as a bench for gatherings. They liked to sit, play, and talk on a wooden box. Yuri Koval in the Tale of the porch and the filling-up (1985) describes the traditional attribute of the hut in this way.

«But Lelya has already realized that the filling does not fly, of course — she fills up the house from below, so that the wind does not get under the house, but with the wind  frost and snow.

It was a good filling, sheathed with gray boards. And it was possible to sit on it, and not only to sit, but even to run around the rubble around the house. And Lelya was running around the filling, tapping her bare heels on the gray boards, and  then she sat and looked at the meadow and dandelions.

From   what can you make a filling in a wooden house?

According to the construction, the filling is an extension to the basement and the lower part of the wall with a beveled upper plane. Previously, natural thermal insulation material was traditionally placed inside the box – hay, sawdust, chaff, dry earth, etc. They protected the foundation and the lower crowns of the log house from the effects of precipitation and meltwater, and thus extended the service life of the house.

Today, the filling is rarely used as an option for home insulation. However, it can be made from materials that are resistant to moisture and have a special treatment to prevent corrosion or rotting. In as a backfill insulation, expanded clay can be used — pellets of baked clay, but  under itit is advisable to lay a layer of waterproofing blocking the groundwater path to the material. You can sheathe the filling with various traditional and modern materials, having previously made a frame of metal profiles or wooden bars. For the lining of the box, wood, siding, profiled flooring, special basement panels, etc. are suitable.
